Nicole Acquah

Nicole Acquah is an actress, writer, and academic. She is a graduate of The Bush Theatre’s Emerging Writer’s Group and was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting 2021. Her work moves between the multidisciplinary expressions of maker, mover, and shaker, and explores themes of race, identity, theology, womanhood, and heritage. Her writing is often poetic, lacing vulnerability and authenticity with hard-hitting social commentary. She has written a number of semi-autobiographical plays, as well as larger ensemble pieces for various theatre companies, educational institutions, and venues. You may have seen her work at venues such as Summerhall at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Barbican, Arcola, Camden People’s Theatre, Shoreditch Hall, Bread & Roses, etc. She loves to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds.
